Suggest Treatment For Severe Itchiness On The Knee

About a week ago I was at my daughters ball game that night my legs from my ankles right up to under my knee area started itching like crazy so that evening i went to the store and got some bite itch stuff and put it on when I woke up the next day I had red spots on my lower legs they itched like crazy and they had kinda a scaly dry patch in the middle of them. Now I have one one my left upper thigh and my right side of my right wrist. They won t go away and they are driving me crazy with the severe itching. What is this, I could really use some help I have no insurance to go to the Dr.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe itchiness on the knee which seems to be due to contact dermatitis, allergic reaction, psoriasis, skin infection, and fungal infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep your skin clean and dry , protect it from sun. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order certain test like skin patch test , blood test , allergy test and take history to rule out the side effects of certain drug . Doctor may also prescribe antifungal like fluconazole or anti bacterial like clindamycin. You should avoid touching or pricking your skin with any sharp object. Apply only petroleum jelly and take antihistamine like benadryl twice a day.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
