Suggest Treatment For Severe Indigestion While On Prevacid
I am experiencing a lot of indigestion. I take prevacid every morning but I am having to take zantac a couple of times during the day. Evening seems worse the evening meal is to where I can not eat because my stomach is so acid filled. Tonight I drank some milk before my meal but that had no effect. I belch constantly
If prevacid is not sufficient to control the symptoms instead of topping it up with zantac you should better use motility agents like domperidone or itapride before meals as well as oral antacid suspensions like sucralfate which will help in accordance when used concomitantly along with prevacid. If symptoms persist, it's better to get upper GI endoscopy after a detailed gastroenterologist review and stool for H. pylori may also be needed. Meanwhile avoiding junk, spices, or fizzy foods.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
