Hi There

cold and flu season brings on hacking cough that can leave your chest muscles aching. But you can be caught because of some allergies, dry air, asthma or smoking. Some of anti hypertensive and anti allergic drugs are also a cause of coughing.

Let me know if you are on any medications , allergic to anything and if you smoke then you need to stop smoking

you should try some tips at home like
-stay hydrated, drinking fluids helps to thin out the mucous and keep the mucous membrane moist.
- drink warm tea with a honey added in this , it soothes throat
- inhale steam of saline water or you can add levoline in this , it will resolve the wheezing
- you should add a over the counter decongestant to get completely cured.

Good Luck
