Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough, Running Nose And Fever

hello doctor....my 5 month old daughter is having severe cough,running nose and fever...my paediatrician prescribed coscopin for cough and k-zine syrup for cold...but still my daughter s symptoms are presisting....can k-zine and coscopin be given for a 5 month old infant?if not tell me an alternative...thank u...

First, I would like to ask you something:

1. Is the cough is accompanied by sputum?
2. How are stool and urine?
3. Are there chills?
4. How much increase in temperature. Can you describe more like fever mostly in daytime or at night?
5. Is there any wheezing sound from the chest?

Suggesting tests:

1. Blood Tests including IgE
2. Chest X-Ray
3. Skin Prick test
4. RAST test
5. Sputum culture if applicable

Meanwhile:

You need to see the weight of the baby which is crucial, do not neglect it.

For fever, I would suggest you give Acetaminophen 15 mg/kg every 6 hours. For Running nose, please give Cetirizine syrup 2.5 mg orally once a day.

Give her honey, it can reduce cough. The test results are important, it will guide us to do the following step.
