Yes. I have a 11y/o daughter that has come down with some type of a cold. Her symptoms include: runny nose, stuffy, fever, sore throat, cough w/yellowish discharge, headache and eye pain. What do you suggest this may be. I think she has acute sinusitis

Hello,

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I went through your daughter's history and would like to make suggestions for her as follows:

1. I would also first think of acute sinusitis as she has fever, headache, eye pain, nose congestion with yellowish discharge.

2. I usually suggest my such patients an antibiotic like amoxycillin-clavulinic acid for at least 14 days. I also suggest them an antihistamine like cetirizine or levocetirizine and a cough syrup for symptoms relief. I also add paracetamol to be used for fever on as-and-when-needed basis.

3. Adequate rest, light diet, plenty of warm fluids during day as well as steam inhalation and warm saline gargles will also help early recovery and a better symptoms relief.

Hope above suggestions will be helpful to your daughter.

Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.

Wish your daughter the best of the health and a very good recovery.

Thank you & Regards.
