Suggest Treatment For Rashes On Scalp And Burning Sensation

Hi Dr I have a rash in my scalp and just at the hairline located middle of my neck with a burning sensation like pimples but when I scratch there s like dried lumps of skin/blood. Is there a home remedy I can try I have a feeling it may have been caused by a moth that lodged in my hair which I removed but my fingers had touched the wings and at the time I had an itch at the same time so I didn t get to wash my hands immediately. I appreciate your help on this one. thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
Rashes, pimples and burning sensation of scalp what you are complaining of is mainly due to 'seborrhic dermatitis' of scalp.
You have to use shampoo containing Ketoconazole with salicylic acid, selenium and zinc as ingredients for 3 weeks. That will help you to heal the lesions gradually.
Avoid scratching as these lesions bleeds. They may also get infected. You can take Tablet. Levocetrizine 10mg once daily for 5 days to control itch.
Hope you will improve soon. All the best.
