Suggest Treatment For Pleural Effusion On My Left Lung

I am 54. Two months ago I had a partial colonectomy. I developed an e coli infection post surgery and then pneumonia. I now have a pleural effusion on my left lung and collapsed lung. Can this resolve itself or do I have to have it drained? The thoracic surgeon does not want drain it yet.

In my opinion you should under go 1st CT Scan Thorax to rule out underlying mass or consolidation with pleural effusion. And I also want to know the resion for your colectomy if it is due to malignancy than high chances of spread of tumour in the chest.
