Brief Answer:
you can continue business.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for your query, read the history and understood your problem.

To recapitulate: Age (not mentioned) - Pleurectomy and (thoracotomy is done for Pleurectomy) - Cystic (bullae) lung disease - three and half years - has to use 2 Ultracet (pain, discomfort) and Alprazolam (anxiety) twice daily and Zolpidem (sleep) at Bedtime for the said indications - Wants to know about Snepsol and business (tensions and journey) and air travel ...

Let us discuss on every matter separately and try to find why it is and a solution for each:

May I please know few more points relevant to this discussion and may have inbuilt explanation or solutions:
-Since when have you been taking these 3 medicines ?
-Started immediately after surgery or have been added one by one at different periods of time during the course of follow-up ?
-Have you tried to stop / alter the dosage or reduce the dosage of any or all of these three Medicines anytime on your own or by your Doctor?
-If yes, what were the effects ?
-Any problem related to the lungs at the moment ?
-Any Follow-up CT scan done ? When was the last Scan done ?
-Were the medicines started by the operating Surgeon or a Physician ?

* I know these are too many questions, but they have a direct bearing upon your health, dependence on medicines and definitely the family and business life.

If the Surgery has been performed three and half years back, there has to be no obvious reason for the pains and the discomforts you have unless the inter-costal nerves are involved in the healing process or so.
Ultracet has to be taken only if there is a pain, it is never needed in the twice a day dosage. You can take Ultracet half tablet also and take only if there is pain.
If there is so much pain, you can certainly consult the Surgeon who operated you and may be a small surgery or a local injection can help to relieve the pains.

Anxiety : Who does not have it ? Every one has it but all the people do not take this or such medicines. If you have been taking Alprazolam for a long time, it will be bit difficult to stop this medicines as by this time the addiction must have taken over.
You may need a consultation of the Physician or a Psychiatrist for Alprazolam, or the best way is your strong will-power. I have seen many people who could reduce the dose or stop it.
Zolpidem : I know this is wonderful medicines for sleep and related problems. You can seriously stop all these three medicines one by one and under the guidance of the Psychiatrist as these are neurotropic medicines and needs expert's advise and prescription.

In part or full, much of the dosage reduction or stoppage of these medicines is in your hands, your will-power, support of the family, Family Doctor and the Specialist's who are treating you.
Sometimes alternative therapy like Yoga, Meditation, Acupressure or Acupuncture can help to alleviate your symptoms and reduction / alteration and / or stoppage of all these medicines.
Detailed study as to why have you got pains can be studies with proper clinical / physical examination and investigations like CT scan of the chest.

Snepsol; / Snepdol is a good alternative medicine but not used much by many of the Doctors and can be taken only if your Doctors suggests so.
My sole intention is to have the most minimum or no medicines at all after such a long time after a surgery.

If you are symptomatically fit as far as lungs are concerned and CT scan is normal, I do not see any reasons why should you not be able to continue your Professional business. You certainly can. There is no business or a job which does not have tensions and worries. You already had air journeys, if they were uneventful, you can continue to have. The airplanes on international flight are pressurized so nothing to worry and the domestic do not attain much of the heights.

I hope this answers your queries and clears most of the doubts. Please fell free to give a feedback, ask for relevant queries or if you feel that there is a gap-of-communications
