General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The mainstay of sciatica management is controlling pain and keeping people as active as possible. Lying down for short periods will help. Avoid prolonged sitting.

Gabapentin and Ibuprofen 600 are a better choice of pain medicines than what you are taking currently till you see your doctor. If your symptoms persist beyond six weeks, surgery is an option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
