Hi,I resently fall down the stairs but I had the pain for a week and no problem with sitting. In 10 days i hit strong directly the coccyx on the hard surface of a sunbed. Since than i had stronger than the first time pain but for 2 weeks only. In a week I decided to check the bottom area palpably and pressing my fingers around the coccyx.Since then I am in constant and stronger pain and around the bottom and hips as well.Could be broken or bruised only?Is pelvic mri ok for a coccyx injury?Thank you
You may be suffering from tailbone pain, also called coccydynia or coccygodynia, usually goes away on its own within a few weeks or months.
To lessen tailbone pain in the meantime, it might help to:
Lean forward while sitting down, Sit on a doughnut-shaped pillow or wedge (V-shaped) cushion, Apply heat or ice to the affected area, Take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen or aspirin.
If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
