Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent cold and cough which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection or poor immunity of body. It is due to increased skin susceptibility. Need not to worry. He should avoid exposure to allergen such as smoke and any smoking article as that will exaggerate their condition. Avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. You should maintain oral hygiene. Avoid intake of sharp spicy food. Do warm saline gargles. You can go for blood and sputum tests as well. You should take proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications. You should apply mist humidifiers in room and take throat lozenges.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
