Suggest Treatment For Pain In Wrist After Injury

How do I know if I popped a tendon at/just above my wrist? In July, pulling a dead tree out of the ground, I heard a pop in my wrist, had pain (but not excruciating), and thought with rest it would get better. It has gotten a little better, but every time I return to normal weight bearing excercise, it hurts more. Is it the tendon? Is it the bone (wrist moves fine)? How do I help it heal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms might be due to Joint sprain or ligament injury, bursitis etc. I advise you to:
- Analgesics (Acetaminophen) twice & tab. Seropeptidase thrice daily with antacid
- Rest & don't overstrain the affected area
- Ice pack to relieved of pain & swelling
- Check X-ray of wrist joint if needed.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
