Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Right Arm

I have had very bad pain in my right arm for a month. The pain is worse when I am using it for writing or computer and then when I lower the arm the pain is severe. It hurts from the shoulder down to past my elbow. I have not seen a doctor yet because I do not know what kind of speciality would treat it. Can you help me? Loretta Pigg YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

I think your pain in the arm could be due to bad posture or misuse of the limb too much. You might be using it too much to write or use a computer. You need to give other exercises also to your arm rather than the routine thing you do.

If you still feel more pain, then you can always take any painkillers which can help subsides the pain. Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, Tramadol, etcetera can be taken for 3 to 5 days.

If you have any nerve compression, then you might have paresthesia. Just make sure you do not have it. If you have, then you can take Vitamin B12 tablets also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
