Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Ear After Piercing

I have had an ear piercing in my upper ear for about a year now and a few days ago I changed the earring to another type. It felt just fine at first, but yesterday it changed. Now the area around the piercing on the back of my upper ear is swollen and it hurts incredibly much - I can hardly clean my earring without it hurting so much I feel like crying. What can I do? If I take out the earring, is it possible that the infection will be trapped inside my ear?

Hi,
I have gone through your query ; it suggests that you may be suffering from the perichondritis of the pinna.
For your kind information perichondritis is due to the infection in cartilage and to prevents this you should avoid piercing the cartilage area of the pinna.

Thanks
