Suggest Treatment For Pain And Stiffness In The Neck

My son can t move his neck 2 days...ER gave muscle relaxants and shot of dilaudid..hydrocodone...no relief just got done a couple hours ago at ortho doc - took X-ray gave steroid shot and prednisone...X-ray looked good except toward base of neck cloudy - ordered stat MRI but scheduler can t get it done for 8 days. What could cloudiness be?

Hi,

It appears to be cervical spondylitis. You should go for a neck collar. The medicine you are taking is alright except Prednisolone since it will do masking of symptoms, as it is a steroid. But steroid should be slowly withdrawn with reduced doses. Pillow should be avoided and hard bed should be used. Analgesic like fort win can be started. Now pain will be slowly go. Warm fomentation can be given.
