Suggest Treatment For Osteoporosis Of Spine

Hello, I am an 82 year old female with severe osteoporosis of the spine along with curvature of the spine, I weigh only 83 lbs and cannot gain even 1 ounce since my husband passed away in 1992. For the last year or so I have experienced shakiness in my knees and I feel unstable at times in my gait when walking. Is this something that I can address with my GP or do I need a specialist? Thank you. Mrs. Johnson

Hi,

Get your DEXA scan done to know the exact status of osteoporosis and if it is marked than use injection Teriparatide under orthopedic guidance.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
