Hi,
It is degenerative change and can be slowed down by medication and life style modifications.
Glucosamine has better efficacy and you can continue. Steroid injections could help you in reducing pain.
You can try weight reduction (if overweight) through nutritious diet. Vitamin D and calcium supplementation can be done.
Steroid injection can be taken only 4 times a year. If taken in excess, it can lead to complications. Local application of capsaicin cream can be tried to reduce pain.

Also you can try physiotherapy and passive exercises to improve muscle strength around knee joint, which could reduce pressure on the knee joint and could slowdown osteoarthritis. Knee guard / support can also be tried as it improves the knee position.
If you have any further queries, happy to help again.
