General & Family Physician 's  Response
Numbness in limbs is mostly caused by peripheral nerve damage. There are many causes of peripheral nerve damage such as diabetes, chronic renal failure, leprosy, vertebral compression, vasculitis, shingles and hypothyroidism etc. Cause needs to be identified.
Advice
1.     Methylcobalamin 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months
2.     Amitriptyline 25 mg daily per oral at bed time for 15 days
3.     Take rest and do not involve in strenuous activity
4.     Investigations – MRI of spine, blood sugar (F & PP)
Thanks
