Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is suffering nausea which leads to vomiting about 50% of the time and his heart racing. Almost 2 years ago he had 2 heart attacks and an Angioplasty where they located a clot in his leg and inserted a stent in the coronary artery. The hospital has checked his heart and everything has come back normal. We thought it could be Hiatus Hernia which he is taking the Fort strength Nexum. He was doing well and all of a sudden has these turns which he has no idea where they are coming from. We haven t been able to make a connection with his symptoms and any activity/action that may bring on his symptoms. Are you able to suggest something that links back to these symptoms?
Palpitations can occur in any form of distress whether physical or emotional and can occur with nausea and vomiting.
Causes of nausea and vomiting include: (1) DISEASE of the viscera (related to organs. This includes conditions such as (a) reflux (b) gallbladder disease (c)hepatitis (d) urinary tract infection (e)obstruction of the bowel
(2)RELATED to chemicals or hormones
Includes :(a) side effect of medication (b)kidney disease (c)alcohol use (d) high calcium (e)infections
(3)RELATED to brain or spinal cord or nervous system (a) vertigo (b)mass in the brain or spinal cord (c)types of migraines
To find the cause, he would need blood tests and imaging.
Treatment would depend on what it found.
I hope this helps
