went in for a simple lung scan as precautionary test, yes I am a smoker. Lungs are fine but they told me it appears I have a small aeortic anorism in my heart. Sorry not sure how to spell this one. I was diagnosed years ago with a mitral valve prolapse. Just doing some reserach
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Smoking is the cause for your small aortic aneurysm. So first of all you should quit smoking as soon as possible. Get done blood pressure monitoring and if it is high then you should start antihypertensive drugs. Strict blood pressure control is needed. Also get done lipid profile to evaluate dyslipidemia. Usually, no treatment is needed for small aortic aneurysm. But smoking cessation and strict control of blood pressure are priorities in your case. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
