Suggest Treatment For Mild Hepatomegaly With Infiltration Of Fat In Liver
Hello doc. Recently in my check up. Ultrasound report shows mild hepatomegaly with mild infiltration of fat in liver. I took 90 ml alcohol for 3 days before test. exercise 1to 2hrs daily. It also showed moderate prostatomegaly. Am taking medication for heart . Blood thinners n cholestrol. Recently developed eye irritation n taking steroid eye drops. My last check up was 1yr back n none pf this showed up then. Pls guide me
Fatty liver can be due to alcohol use or it may be non alcoholic fatty liver. Non alcoholic fatty liver is due to overweight/obesity, diabetes, inactivity, poor diet.
A decrease in carbohydrate intake is actually associated with improvement. Carbohydrates are converted to fat and stored in the liver and other areas eg muscles.
It is possible that the liver changes would not go any further with continued exercise and diet changes. The medication for cholesterol would also help with this.
Prostate changes can occur with age. They can be benign (not cancer) or cancerous, benign is more common. Your doctor may also suggest the PSA blood test. This would be repeated intermittently to monitor the prostate.
I hope this helps
