Suggest Treatment For Mild Chest Pain

I am having moderate chest pain. I had a quadruple bypass 6 years ago, and have had a check up recently. My results were fine. But tonight I am hurting, and it has been more than 1/2 hour. I can t tell if it s heartburn or heart attack. I did drink a lot of water earlier in the evening and hadn t had a lot to eat today. Should I go to the hospital and have this checked out?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. It is better to go to hospital/ ER and take an ECG to rule out cardiac cause of pain. Because it is difficult to say whether it is cardiac or gastric based on presentation. You can take acid lowering drugs like Ranitidine or Esomeprazole ( Nexium ) and see whether it gives relief.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
