Hi, my father was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer on January 2011. He's been in the hospital for over a month. Doctor attached a tube to his lung to drain fluid (water). He was out of the hospital 3rd week of february..then he went back again. Doctor remove the tube to his lung and found out that he still has lots of fluid, so they put back the tube again, but this time its not only draining water but blood too. How serious is he in now???
Since your father was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and now blood is coming out through the tube i will advise him to do a PET scan to see the extent of his disease and then only further treatment can be decided.
Regards
