Hi,

I noticed a small lump behind my right ear (at the very edge of the mastoid bone closest to my neck) going on 3 months ago. At the time, I was beginning to show cold/sinus infection like symptoms. After several weeks of mild symptoms, I saw a NP for the cough and lump, which I thought might be a swollen lymph node. My right ear and throat were red, so I was given a shot and an antibiotic. The symptoms persisted (and worsened) until about 2 weeks ago and the lump is unchanged. The NP and a dermatologist both thought it was related to this infection. I'm still a bit concerned that it hasn't gone away though. It feels like a soft lump until I push down, then it feels like a small knot. It was a little tender initially, but is painless now. The size hasn't changed. I see another dermatologist in about 3 weeks, but should I be concerned? I should also mention that I do still have mild symptoms - occasional cough and sneeze with greenish mucus/phlegm. Thank you!
