Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my problem started Oct with pain in thigh and right leg then a couple of days later couldnt put my foot down without shooting pain very much like a trapped nerve. After 3 days it went but then had an ache lower back which then caused more trapped nerves in my bottom.I am finding it hard to sit comfortably better on the move now when i sneeze and have hicupps or overbreathe the pain just shoots across that lower area of back,I had problems 12 years ago when i sneezed and ruptured a disc and trapped nerve off work for 4 months then 8 yrs ago i had a mri scan as had a recurrence for a couple of weeks.Scan showed problems with L4/L5 discs and bulges at many levels and a fairly promient posterior protrusion at L1/2 after reading report i felt things didnt look that good.Apart from the odd ache now and again i ve had no mayjor problem till now.Although i ve always worked with children and that can put a strain on your back i have recently changed jobs and it was only two weeks into this job in Oct that i stretched up high to reach a large box and my problems seemed to start just after that i know i probably need to be patient as these things take time to repair.I am still going to work as am better on the move just been careful that i bend at the knees are there any exercises i could do to help myself without going to doctor s. Best wishes Sandra Maidment P.S i am aged 59
