Suggest Treatment For Low Fever, Congestion And Strep Throat

Hello my daughter is 15 and is allergic to every antibiotic ever given her. She has what appeared to be a sinus infection that turned to strep throat. For about 7 days she has had a low fever, sinus congestion, mostly on one side. 2 days ago symptoms escalated to bad breath and white patches in her throat. Over the years she has had to let any and all infections just run its course and stay basically quarantined until she healthy again. I have had to find all natural cures for misc. viral and bacterial infections, however this time her body is not responding and she seems to be getting worse. What are some other suggestions I can do to help her body kick this infection.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Treatment of strep throat normally involves intake of antibiotics to treat the infection. However it seems that your daughter is allergic to some antibiotic. Normally a person is allergic to one or two drugs only, your daughter should not be allergic to all antibiotics. She could also have low tolerance or higher side effects to antibiotics & not allergy.
So we have to find out which antibiotic she is allergic to, please note down the name of antibiotic she is having problem with in future. You should tell his physician the antibiotic which doesn't suit her, In this way you could prevent intake of same antibiotic by different doctors.
As per the strep throat following treatment could be done
1 Salt Water Gargle- Mix 1 tsp of salt with warm water in a glass. Ask her gargle for roughly 15-20 seconds and spit out. You can repeat this as needed for 2-3 days.
2. You could give her acetaminphen/ibuprofen for fever & pain relief
3.Give her warm liquid diet & ask to take rest.

If problem persist visit a ENT specialist

Hope this information helps
