Welcome to HCM!
I can understand your problem.
Reduced bone mineral density is referred to as Osteoporosis a condition in which bones become brittle and thinner and vulnerable to trivial trauma predisposing to fractures especially in the hip region.

The most important adverse effect with Fosomax is development of ulcer the lining of food pipe causing pain. However this can be prevented by Taking the drug with a full glass of water & remaining upright for 30 minutes.
The alternate medicines which are effective in patients who can not tolerate Fosomax include
Vit D3 along with Calcium
Teriparatide injection
Strontium ranelate
Fluorides
Kindly consult your doctor for the alternate medicine for low bone density.
Besides medicines you must take diet rich in calcium and vitamin D,
Weight bearing exercises,
Cessation of smoking
Avoid drugs like glucocorticoids which increase bone loss.

I hope your query has been answered.
