Hi,

The rash can be due to an allergic reaction and it can be due to any food or medication. It can also be due to detergents, soaps, skin cosmetics, leather, latex etc. Any exposures to poison ivy can also be a cause.

In case if there is not much improvement and oral medicines are not helping in reducing the symptoms, then you should consult an Allergist and get evaluated.

An allergy test can be done to rule out the exact cause of the reaction. He can be advised a steroid shot to relieve the symptoms faster. Also applying steroid ointment can help in relieving the itch. Doing cool compresses can help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
