Suggest Treatment For Itching Caused By Xarelto

Hello, I am on Xarelto for four months and in past ten days developing itches. Two questions: since itching is a common side effect, are ther topical treatments to help with the itching? Secondly would a switch to say Aloquis (sp) be a good substitute since it does not appear to have itching as major side effect?

The first recommended steps would be to take a good centrally-acting anti-pruritic (anti-itch) anti-histamine tablet, Cetirizine or Rupatidine are both good options and can usually be obtained from a pharmacy without prescription. Secondly use a good emollient cream as a soap substitute when bathing/showering instead of normal soap to help maintain your skin barrier and make you less sensitive to itchy skin. Ask your pharmacist for his/her recommendation of locally available emolient cream to be used as soap substitute. Thirdly evaluate whether there are any foods or other avoidable behavior which tends to aggravate your itching. If the above measures fail, the itching +- rash worsens or you develop other symptoms
, then speak to your treating doctor about other possible treatment measures or possibly switching medication.
