I believe I was bitten by an insect; I was working on an outdoor light timer and thought I received an electric shock, but the sensation has persisted. finger where the incident occurred is numb and has prickly feeling; that feeling has gone up to the elbow area. what do you think happened and do i need to do anything for it?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Since the description you have given appears that the allergic reaction is spreading after what has happened after insect bite, it would be better to take the following measures. 1. Wash the area of bite and affected area with clean water and mild antiseptic like Savlon to keep the area clean. 2. Apply ice packs on the affected area and take Tablet. Ibuprofen to reduce inflammation. 3. Take Tablet. Loratidine to overcome allergic reactions. 4. Apply calamine lotion for soothening affect on skin. Your symptoms should subside gradually. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
