Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
6+ months ago, i was hospitalized for an inflamed pancreas. The doctor termed it as "it looked like someone threw a grenade in there" from the scan they took. I've changed my diet but i want to take some supplements to "help" my pancreas make the enzymes it's supposed to. An online doctor mentioned "Creon" but i wanted another opinion and someone told me to come here. I do not want to go back to the hospital, for any reason, and the diet guide they gave me was vague (to say the least). Could you also comment on that?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If this is pancreatitis that you are talking about or it is the swelling of the pancreas due to infection, then it comes to normal with proper antibiotic. Besides this, the underlying cause of pancreatic disease matters the great, and it is to be managed accordingly, else the term that is being used for swelling or inflammation is not the medical term.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
