Suggest Treatment For Indentation In The Head

I woke up this morning with a dent in my head and in the middle of that dent it is very tender. I didn t hit my head. This is painful to the touch and also seems a little swollen on the side of my head like I have big bumps along side the dent. What could be and should I be worried? I take topomax for migraines.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, you need to get it examined by a dermatologist to see for any scalp soft tissue infection or inflammation.

May need oral OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with antibiotics if any signs of infection or inflammation are evident around the scar.

Its picture can be shared on this forum in a query directed for a dermatologist for a better opinion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
