Suggest Treatment For Inability To Feel Ejaculation

My husband is 44 yrs old and 240lbs. He Had L4/L5 back surgery for compressed and buldging discs in 2006. We've been married 24 yrs with a great sex life. Never any pleasure issues for either of us. Since sx In the last 3-4 years, he is able to ejaculate but has no feeling or pleasure. Get an erection but has no idea when ejaculation takes place. During intercourse, his back at the surgery site sweats, thats the only thing he feels. When he had the sx the Dr warned that it could affect him sexually. Should he see a neurologist or urologist for the issues. He gets very discouraged. HELP!

Hello
Thanks for query .

Your husband has undergone surgery for prolapsed intervetebral Disc 10 years back and now facing problem of not getting Orgasm during sex though ejaculation is normal what is called as An orgasmic Ejaculation (Anorgasmia).

Spinal cord injury or surgery is known to have side effect of Anorgasmia but since your husband has started this issue since very recently many years after surgery it can not be due to surgery .

In majority of cases it is due to what is called as Performance anxiety in addition to obesity .

Both of you need to consult qualified Psychiatrist for counselling.Following general measure will help him to boost up his confidence and getting orgasm.
1) Practice regular moderate exercise avoiding spine exercises for 45 minutes followed by meditation for 1/2 an hour in the morning.
2) Take high protein diet rich in vegetables and fruits and Vitamin A,C,D,E.and Zinc
3)Take anti oxidants like Almonds 5-6 everyday
4) Avoid alcohol and smoking.
