Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism

Hig, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism on Thursday. There s other stuff going on too. My primary doc did not want to start synthroid treatment until my next appointment with my cardiologist. But, I am feeling REALLY bad. I can t hardly walk without getting fatigued. I slept for 13 hours last night. I m having stabbing chest pains. I m wondering if I should go to the ER. By the way, my TSH level was over 7, and the blood was drawn two weeks ago.

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,

If you have chest pain you need to go to the ER. Regarding thyroid treatment, it needs to be treated but if you have cardiac pathologies Synthroid should be started with the lowest dose.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mirjeta Guni, Endocrinologist
