Suggest Treatment For Hypertension While On LIsinopril And Atenolol
I have high blood pressure and recently it got worse. My Dr. changed my medications by increasing my LIsinopril from 20 mg to 40 mg, adding Spirinolactone 25 mg and changing my Atenolol 50 mg to bed time and my Lisinopril to 20m morning and 20 mg afternoon with the Spirinolactone. I have been very fatigued and feeling lightheaded or dizzy since and my upper arms ache and feel heavy. Am I taking too much medication now?
Many things can cause fatigue with lightheadedness and dizziness, but this is a common side effect of blood pressure medications, especially Atenolol. It could be your blood pressure is getting too low as well.
As for the ache in your upper arms, that is a little harder to explain, but one cause may be from electrolyte changes (such as too much potassium) in your blood that Lisinopril and Spironolactone can cause. I would suggest getting your blood checked, along with getting your blood pressure checked as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
