Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Pressure In Ears

I have excessive pressure around (not in) my ears - from ear drum to exterior. It increases to point of severe headache; ear to ear then rises around the top of my head. Does not affect vision, but prevents me from any accomplishment from thereafter. I lay down for (approx.) 2Hrs. before it disapates.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you are having a lot of discomfort in your ear, you are suggested to visit an ENT & get physically examined. The cause of your symptoms can be Wax, Acute otitis media, eardrum perforations, etc.

Your treating doctor can tell you to do audiometry test to assess your hearing status.

Your treatment(with antibiotics, ear drops, pain killers) will depend upon the pathology detected. For pain take NSAIDS, combiflam, one sos when needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
