General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Labyrinthitis is a rippling disease and there are 2 types of treatment, first is symptomatic to have relief and the second one is specific for the basic cause found. For this the exact cause has to be found out. In many a cases it may not be possible to find the original cause, yet you have to undergo the following:
* MRI of the mastoids and brain
* Clinical evaluation by an ENT surgeon
* Audiometry
* All this will lead to a proper cause and you will be prescribed symptomatic as well as specific treatment.
In some cases it may be necessary to get surgery done like if there is leakage of semicircular canals.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
