Suggest Treatment For Headache, Fever And Malaise

69 year old husband has fever 100.8. He had aches/pains/headache and malaise since yesterday evening (it is now the following day at 4:00 pm). Last night before going to bed (he had no fever then) he had a short (less than 5 minutes) shaking chill which quickly went away.

Fever is a symptom of an underlying disease. There are many causes of fever such as malaria, typhoid, infectious mononucleosis, TB, Dengue etc.
Advice
1.     Cefixime 100 mg every 12 hours per oral for 5 days
2.     Paracetamol 500 mg per oral if fever occurs
3.     Cold water sponging if fever is more than 100 degree Farenheight
4.     Investigations – CBC, ESR, Widal test, blood smear for malaria parasite, and dengue NS1 antigen
