Suggest Treatment For Hashimotos Autoimmune Disease And Hypothyroidism

Hi, I ve been diagnosed with Hashimotos Autoimmune Disease and Hypothyroidism. In addition from a blood panel they have found me severely anemic, and extremely deficient in Vitamin D and B and inflammation of the liver and gallbladder. I have gained 65 pounds since December an average of 10 pounds a month. Today I am nauseated, my urine smells like vinegar, my bowel movement was solid and brown with a bright yellow tint and my feet are swollen. Could this be my liver?

Hello
Thank you for writing to us on Health care Magic.
Based on your history the response to your question is as follows.
1. You are suffering from severe hypothyroidism.
2. Immediate correction of hypothyroidism is necessary. Need to start on thyroxine supplements at the earliest. Due to hypothyroidism, you are having major abnormalities involving Gut, renal system, cardiovascular, weight gain etc. Once thyroid levels return to normal, symptoms will reduce and slowly improve.
3. If anemia is severe, will require packed red cells transfusion. Also Vit D supplements is necessary. Good hydration.
4. For thyroid - if there is no compression symptoms or difficulty in breathing, not to worry. No surgery is necessary for now. Meet an endocrinologist to start you on thyroxine.
5. No liver problem at present, as there is no abdominal swelling due to ascites or any jaundice. It is mostly thyroid related.
Hope this is helpful to you.
