Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have got a small node on the right side of the scalp; gone for a CT scan of Brain; report says it is calcified granuloma on the right posterior occipital scalp region; the node is painfull at times. what is the treatment for this and is it dangereous?
Noted your short history of a calcified granuloma on scalp confirmed by CT scan also, the lumps is painful at times; wants to know whether this is dangerous and the mode of treatment. Calcified small granuloma on scalp is no tdangerous but the calcified granuloma is usually not painful or tender. Hence the only option is to consult a General Surgeon. Request him to get this operated. Send the sample for histo-pathology examination to know the cause. Further investigations as per the cause found and other investigations if required otherwise removal of granuloma itself will be a cure. No need to be anxious.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
