Suggest Treatment For Fibromyalgia

I am over weight, very sore joints, I ve been told I have fibromyalgia, my muscles are weak, I have a bad back which restricts some types of exercise, I m female and 57. For the last year if I have any type of alcohol, I get an uncomfortable Head rush after the first couple steps and then it goes away. My skin is very dry. I sleep good and need 8-10 hours a night. I am a happy person but I want to feel better and lose weight

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Fibromyalgia treatment involves multimodal strategy which includes physical therapy for the trigger points, medications like gabapentin with methyl cobalamin and vitamin D3. In addition to this, holistic approaches like yoga and meditation are of most help.

I would suggest you to start with meditation and Physiotherapy. Get your Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D3 checked, and if low, get them corrected with medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Santosh S Jeevannavar
