I am hvng fever since Monday night. I hv been taking dolo650 (paracetamol) thrice a day since then. My fever subsides for 4-5 hours nd again comes back. The temperature is continuously in the range of 98.5 - 100. I get hungry. Since yesterday I hv started with a mild antibiotics to control my cough. (Topcef- cefixime)
Fever is a symptom of an underlying disease. There are many causes of fever such as malaria, typhoid, infectious mononucleosis, TB, Dengue etc. Advice 1. Topcef 100 mg every 12 hours per oral for 5 days 2. Paracetamol 500 mg per oral if fever occurs 3. Cold water sponging if fever is more than 100 degree Farenheight 4. Investigations a. CBC b. ESR c. Widal test d. Blood smear for malarial parasite e. Dengue NS1 antigen Consult a doctor with reports if fever is not relieved by above measures. Thanks
