Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You are 72 years old and it is normal to see some decline in erection with advancing age. You also have medical conditions like disc degeneration, mild CKD and these could be potentiating the problem. I'd also advise you to get your diabetes and hypertension status checked. Get HbA1c levels checked and this will tell long term control of sugar. If this comes in abnormal range then consider consulting a physician and take proper treatment of diabetes. Normal sugar levels and normal blood pressure will improve the situation. Caverject or Alprostadil can help to gain erection but regular use is usually not recommended. I'd advise you to visit a psychiatrist for proper evaluation and treatment.

PDE-5 Inhibitor drugs like Sildenafil, Tadalafil or Verdanafil etc can help to achieve better erection when used in SOS basis about half hour before intercourse. These drugs are safe and have no significant serious side effects if used under proper prescription. If you are on some medicines especially nitrates then disclose your medicines status to your doctor before taking these drugs. Visit a psychiatrist for help.

Thanks, I hope this helps you. Take care
