How to lower cholesterol my reading was 278 and my doctor prescribed Lipitor and I ve read up about it and spoke with others about it and a lot of people said that to get off it immediately so I called my doctor and told the nurse I didn t feel comfortable taking it and said I would change my diet and up my exercise instead of this pill what do you think I have a follow up in a month

So follow these steps.
1. Avoid oily and fatty food. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
2. Eat high fiber diet like green leafy vegetables.
3. Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.
4. Do regular aerobic exercise like running, cycling and swimming.
5. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Take sound sleep of 6-8 hours.
Get done repeat cholesterol levels after 1 month. If it is reducing then no need to take lipitor. But if levels are increasing or static then start lipitor.
