Hello,
Dizziness and light headedness is commonly due to
hypotension (low blood pressure). Other medical conditions that may cause similar symptoms are
dehydration, low blood glucose, use of tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs, allergy, anxiety and stress or lack of good sleep. You are suggested to stay well hydrated. Take ORS, soups and juice. Take warm beverages. Maintain your sodium - potassium intake so that your body electrolyte system works well and your vitals are normal.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get blood workouts and investigations done to rule out any chronic disease like anemia,
thyroid or liver issues. You may be referred to an ENT to detect wax,
vertigo / Meniere's disease, etc. You will be treated according to the diagnosis made. In the meantime, take food rich in iron, calcium and protein. You can also take supplements. Take adequate sleep and stay away from stress and anxiety. Do not drive or do any heavy work. Stay at rest. You can take Vertin (8mg), one SOS stat when dizzy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
