Suggest Treatment For Discomfort In The Upper Abdomen

I have an upper abdomen discomfort above the belly button and more on the left side. Also, I have no appetite for two months continuous, but I am still eating and lost only 3 pounds. I had a CT on my lower Abdomen and did not show any problem. Also, all the comprehensive blood work was normal. There is no fever, but I feel that there is something that is not normal in the past two month. I have a hiatal hernia that caused GERD in the last 10 years, but with 40mg of Nexium , I feel OK. I have also a severe Divertucli which sometimes get infected, may be every couple of years, but it has a completely different symptoms and it is well under control. Was there any suggestion for the reason of the new symptoms in the last two months and what do you expect what the GI will be able to say. Thanks. My Email is: YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Although your symptoms of GERD are controlled with nexium, a hiatal hernia still can cause pain in abdomen due to traction. If the pain is bearable, then there is nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
