Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Vomiting

My 3 year old daughter came down with a bug last week that caused vomiting for approximately 24 hours. The next day she began having multiple explosive diarrhea episodes and the color was a greenish grey color that persisted for 4-5 days. For the last two days she has had same grey color stools but they are very soft in texture. Appetite is diminished but otherwise she s fine. Should I be concerned?

Welcome to health care magic,

Vomiting and diarrhoea with grey coloured stools could be due to acute gastroenteritis,viral gastroenteritis,diverticulitis etc.

She must undergo routine blood count,electrolytes,stool examination with clinical examination of abdomen or ultrasound of abdomen.

She may require antibiotics(quinolones or cephalosporins or antiprotozoals etc.) with antiemetic, antispasmodics and antiinflammatories with prebiotics and probiotics.

There will be great need of fluid and electrolyte balance in body.

She must be consulted by paediatrician for immediate treatment.
