Suggest Treatment For Cryptococcal Meningitis And Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Tomorrow I will be visiting my cousin in the hospital who has been diagnosed and being treated with Cryptococcal Meningitis and pulmonary tuberculosis. I have a poor immune system myself and easily get sick. Will it be safe for me to visit? He is in the research institute together with other patients with the same illness.. Need your kind and honest advise - Thank you

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Pulmonary tuberculosis is infectious disease.
It spread through droplets.
TThese droplets are produced by patient during coughing, sneezing, laughing, talking, yawning etc.
By these acts, patient discharge droplets in the environment and through inhalation they will infect near by normal individuals.
So chances of infection will be high in your case.
Your immune system is also weak, so this will further increase the possibility of infection.
My advice is to avoid hospital visit and still if you really want to go then wear protective mask before entering hospital premises.
Use antiseptic solution after visiting hospital.
Also insist patient to wear mask.
These are the possible ways to decrease the infectivity.
