Suggest Treatment For Cough And Blood In Phelgm
Good Afternoon Doctor, I went to my primary care Physician last week with a bad cough nad was given a prescription for cough syrup with guafesin and a Z-Pack. He told me not to take the Z-pack if I started feeling better, and I did start feeling better but now I noticed blood in my phlem. Should I start the z pack?

you can start Z pack but you must consult your doctor again as the reason for blood in your phlegm should be ascertained.Although it could be just a normal happening and may be due to violent coughing but you be X rayed to look for causes like tuberculosis,pneumonia etc.
It is better not to ignore such a bleed although a small one.
