Suggest Treatment For Costochondral Separation

I have been diagnosed 2 weeks ago with a costochondral separation. I am worried it s not healing back properly, as a rather large bump has formed. I don t know if this is because the bone and cartilage are healing misaligned, or if it s just inflammation.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most of the cases improve with conservative management. If symptoms persist surgical correction may be required. Consult a thoracic surgeon and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
